Sanjeet Manek’s journey from East Africa to Britain, and from international finance to entrepreneurship, reflects a growing vision for stronger trade, investment and commercial partnerships between the United Kingdom and Africa.
Sanjeet Manek is a British entrepreneur and international trade leader, and the Founder and CEO of Sandea Wholesale Ltd, a UK-based international distribution company connecting leading global brands with retailers, distributors and commercial partners across Britain, Africa and other international markets.
Born and raised in Tanzania before moving to the United Kingdom, Sanjeet’s journey has given him a distinctive understanding of both African and British markets. His international outlook, combined with a strong foundation in business and finance, has shaped his ambition to build enduring commercial relationships between the United Kingdom and the wider African continent.
A graduate of Management from Royal Holloway, University of London, Sanjeet began his professional career in investment banking and asset management. His experience within leading global financial institutions gave him valuable exposure to international capital, financial markets and business strategy — expertise that would later provide a strong foundation for his entrepreneurial career.
From Finance to International Enterprise
In 2019, Sanjeet founded Sandea Wholesale, bringing together his financial expertise, entrepreneurial vision and knowledge of international markets to establish a dynamic distribution platform for global brands.
Today, Sandea operates across multiple fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) categories, representing more than 120 global brands and managing a portfolio of over 2,000 products, with an expanding international footprint.
The company’s international growth has also earned significant recognition. In 2026, Sandea Wholesale received The King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, one of the United Kingdom’s highest distinctions for business, recognising its international growth and contribution to British exports.
The company has also been recognised at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry SME London Business Awards, receiving Gold for International Business of the Year and Silver for Exporter of the Year.
Strengthening UK–Africa Trade
Beyond building a successful international business, Sanjeet is passionate about the wider role that enterprise and trade can play in bringing nations, businesses and markets closer together.
With deep roots in East Africa and a professional base in Britain, he is particularly focused on strengthening commercial relationships between the United Kingdom and Africa.
This includes creating new pathways for British businesses and global brands to access African markets, while helping businesses across Africa develop stronger connections with international markets.
His vision extends beyond simply moving products from one market to another. It is centred on building lasting commercial partnerships, trusted business networks and sustainable channels of trade between Britain and Africa.
Stronger trade relationships, in his view, can create shared economic opportunities, encourage investment, support entrepreneurship and contribute to deeper economic ties between the United Kingdom and African nations.
Trade as a Bridge Between Markets
Africa represents one of the most important emerging opportunities for international business, while Britain remains a major centre for finance, enterprise, innovation and global commerce.
Building stronger connections between these markets requires entrepreneurs and business leaders who understand not only international trade, but also the cultures, commercial environments and opportunities on both sides.
Sanjeet’s background places him within this space.
Through Sandea Wholesale and his wider involvement in international trade, he represents a generation of globally minded British entrepreneurs who recognise that Britain’s future international prosperity is closely connected to meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with high-growth markets around the world, particularly across Africa.
His work also demonstrates how private enterprise can complement wider efforts to deepen UK–Africa economic relations. Sustainable commercial partnerships can create opportunities for businesses on both sides, expand market access and strengthen the networks through which trade and investment can grow.
A Journey Connecting Africa and Britain
From Tanzania to the United Kingdom, from international finance to entrepreneurship, Sanjeet Manek’s journey reflects a continuing commitment to enterprise, international collaboration and the ability of trade to connect people, businesses and economies.
His ambition is not simply to expand a successful company, but to contribute meaningfully to stronger and more sustainable commercial bridges between Britain and Africa.
As global markets become increasingly interconnected, such relationships will become even more important. The opportunity lies in developing partnerships that are commercially successful, mutually beneficial and capable of creating long-term value for businesses and communities.
For Sanjeet, that is the larger purpose behind the journey: using enterprise as a bridge between Britain and Africa, creating opportunities for trade today while building stronger commercial relationships for the future.
