The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied report that it disqualified the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Anambra State.
The Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, discredited the reports, describing it is a mere ruse.
Speaking in a statement, Mr. Oyekanmi said that any official statement not signed by the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (INEC), Barrister Festus Okoye, should not be taken seriously.
He wondered how one can just pick up a paper without INEC logo on it and run to the press.
He stressed that such piece could have been concocted by anyone and claim that it is from INEC.
He explained further that when their staff monitor primaries of political parties, they are expected to write report, stressing, however, that such report is not for public consumption.
He insisted that if anyone is found acting on that report, he should be arrested because he stole the report it is supposed to be for internal use only.
