Strengthening the UK–Nigeria Legacy: Hon. Sunday Dare Appointed Honorary Chair for Africa Pavilion, Glasgow 2026

Following the historic State Visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the United Kingdom, a significant milestone has been achieved in advancing Africa’s global engagement and representation.

INGO UK is proud to announce the appointment of Sunday Akin Dare, CON, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Public Communication, as Honorary Chairperson of the Africa Pavilion for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

This strategic appointment represents a major step toward strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between Africa and global partners, while reinforcing Nigeria’s leadership role within the continent and across the Commonwealth.

Nigeria House: The Crown Jewel of the Africa Pavilion

At the heart of the initiative is Nigeria House, envisioned as the flagship platform and anchor of continental excellence within the Africa Pavilion. More than a national showcase, Nigeria House will position Nigeria not merely as a participant, but as a driving force for:
• Investment promotion and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities
• Strategic trade partnerships between Africa and Europe
• Diplomatic engagement and policy dialogue
• Advancement of the Renewed Hope development agenda on the global stage

By serving as the Pavilion’s central hub, Nigeria House aims to project Africa’s innovation, enterprise, and cultural strength to an international audience during one of the world’s most prominent sporting and diplomatic gatherings.

A Unified Pan-African Vision

The appointment of Hon. Dare signals a renewed commitment to a coordinated Pan-African approach—ensuring that Africa presents a unified voice in Glasgow 2026.

Through collaborative partnerships, the Africa Pavilion will showcase the continent’s economic potential, creative industries, technological innovation, and investment readiness, reinforcing Africa’s position as a strategic partner in global development.

INGO UK expressed confidence that Hon. Dare’s leadership and experience in strategic communication and governance will help elevate Nigeria’s and Africa’s presence, strengthening diplomatic bridges and unlocking new opportunities for cross-continental cooperation.

What is Nigeria House?

Nigeria House is more than a pavilion — it is a dynamic platform designed as a hub for:
• Global Investment & Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Engagement
• Diplomatic Dialogue and Strategic Partnerships
• Showcasing African Excellence in Culture, Innovation, and Enterprise

By anchoring the Africa Pavilion, Nigeria is creating a unified continental home in the United Kingdom — demonstrating that when Africa moves together, the world pays attention.
