Valentine Ozigbo, a leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Anambra State, has urged the party’s leaders, stakeholders, faithfuls, and his fellow aspirants to eschew division and embrace pragmatism as the party gears up towards the 2021 gubernatorial election.
The respected business mogul and philanthropist made this known on Monday, January 4, 2020, during the visit of the Chairman of PDP’s South East caretaker committee, Ali Odefa to Anambra State. At the event, held at Marble Arch Hotel, Awka, Mr Ozigbo stressed on the importance of cohesion within the party.
According to him, the PDP has failed to win the governorship election in the state for the past 16 years because party members have failed to rally support for the party’s preferred candidate. He condemned “this unfortunate trend” and appealed to aspirants, and stakeholders to wholeheartedly throw their weight behind the call for collective peace and unity in Anambra state.
