Our dear Fatherland, a nation founded out of LOVE, by two strangers lost in love, on different missions, but then admiring their new found enclave, they birthed a new Son, under the Sun, named Nigeria, out of lostful eyes, and pleasure, while setting up an empire nation-state of PEACE, AND UNITY, but then out of diversity of many tribes and languages, complex landscape and political-cultures
What has gone wrong with our fatherland, after sixty years, of this marriage of inconvenece, regional devolution, political sentiments, religious sentitments, social and economic distrust. The Fatherland wetlands are exceedingly becoming dry lands, the lush greens of the fileds has turned dark brown, the blue rivers has turned blood-red, such as the saying goes, Rivers of Blood.
The quest for power and domination is now and forever breaking down the fragile, peace and unity, associated with the Fatherland
How did our fatherland give birth to this kind of children, that are men today of a with spoilt heritage, they have grown to become Fathers, plundering and looting the Love-Nations, Fatherland, commonwealth and natural inheritance for selfish greed, wealth accumulation, and power drunkeness.
What can the civil soceity and citizens do at this moment to resolve the nations lingering crisis, aging leaders, incompetent leaders, and state of disconnect.
A successful political leader owes his power to the fact that he moves within the acepted framework of thought, that he thinks and talks conventionally; then his task in a democracy is to find out what the opinions held by the largest number of the citizen are, not to give currency to new opinions which may become the majority view in some distant future”. F. A. HAYEK.
As many join to wish all Father’s well, may we also remember to wish our Fatherland well, because as i write this piece today, all is not well with the Fatherland and the delusionary Fathers at the head of affairs of the land.Like saying goes, when the head is rooting, the body is bad too.
I am hoping that Covid-19/20, has given many reasonable citizens of our Fatherland, enough time for deep reflection and rethinking, and as such post-covid era should awoken a fatherly action and challenge of the powers that be, to bring them to order, for the greater good of our great Fatherland.
Enough of what the fatherland would do for you, now is the time to do what it will take to safe our Fatherland.
” Land of our birth, our faith are bright,
For whose thy seek our Fathers died!!
I leave you with the above heading of my old school anthem, MBHS Lagos as i many to wish all Fathers well.
My Love to you all, as its in the beginning, with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
