Mimiko Arrives Benin, Set to Chair Edo Forum Event

Dr Olusegun Mimiko, former Governor of Ondo state, has just arrived Benin city in Edo state, for the grand reception in honour of Dr Osahon Enabulele, President-elect of the World Medical Association.

The event which is being organized by Edo Forum of Patriots, will be held this Sunday at Horatio Marque, Edo Hotel in Benin city.

Mimiko, a social democrat, whose tenure as two-term governor of Ondo state witnessed unprecedented achievements in all sectors most notably in healthcare, will be the chairman of the occasion.

The event is expected to have as special guests, governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole and one-time governor of Edo state, Chief John Odigiye-Oyegun, among other eminent personalities.

Enabulele, past President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and current President of Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA), defeated Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Nizami, a professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and the President of the Pakistan Medical Association, to become the President-elect of the World Medical Association (WMA)

When sworn-in, he will be the first Nigerian and West African physician to be elected President of the World Medical Association since the birth of the global body in 1947.
