Governor Makinde Showcasing Oyo State to the International Investors World

At the Oyo State International Investment Business Summit 2023 in London, with the Theme: Accessing the pioneer advantage to sustainable investment in Oyo State. As one of the local facilitators of the summit, Cater and Merger Manage Consult UK, is highly delighted to be involved in the successful management of the summit activities.

The Day Conference was anchored by two great colleagues, Mr. David Smith, Chairman British Africa Business Alliance, and Ms. Priscilla Nwaikpo, who both did a wonderful job, the summit was graced by His Excellency, Amb. Sarafa Tunji Isola, the Nigeria High Commissioner to the Court of St. James London, who used the opportunity to welcome, delegates from Oyo State, the friends of Nigeria and the Diaspora community to the Summit Day Conference, he assured everyone of a good business deliberation.

On the other hand, the Chief Host, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Maknide, in his opening remarks, welcomed everyone to the summit, as he said, he and his team brought Oyo State to the international community, specifically, the financial heartbeat of the world, London. He appreciated the good presence of the Nigerian High Commissioner, captains of industries, traditional rulers, members of the state House of Assembly, and other top state functionaries. He went on to say that Oyo State is fully ready for business, while acknowledging existing investors , he encouraged new investors to look at Oyo State as the best investment destination.

Present at the summit were the following key players in the Agricultural, Oil and Gas, Mining and Hospitality Sectors, such as; Ed Ubong MD. Shell Gas Nig, Mr. Adesola Adeduntan MD. First Bank Nigeria, Mrs Theresa Henshaw, MD/CEO Designate UBK UK, Yemisi Balogun CEO. Psaltry International Ltd and many others, who also took time to make good quality presentations. At the end of various papers presentations, business pitches, and in my experience of Investment summit observations, there were huge potentials for an inward investment portfolio of around £100M projections, and as such I see this as a huge success for Oyo State and the government.

Many thanks to the main project coordinators, that made the summit possible, Lolade Olutola, DG. Oyo State Investment and Public-Private Partnership Agency, and Mr. Peter Eledan the summit project consultant.
