Abia League of Professionals Initiative (ALPI), through its leader, Sonny Iroche, calls on Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, the chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to officially release the results of the gubernatorial elections conducted in Abia State on Saturday March 18, 2023.
ALPI, though a non partisan group, is a watchdog committed to good governance in the state and was incorporated in 2022, following the very poor governance of Abia state by successive governments from 1999.
The ALPI’s intention is to create a stable economic, social and political conducive environment for the private sector to thrive, review and revamp amongst others, the following:
- Agriculture sector
- Golden brewery
- Modern Ceramics
- Abia Palm
- Metallurgical Complex
- Obuaku City
- Infrastructure Development e.g fixing Aba roads and sanitation
- Attract foreign & domestic investors into the state with state incentives.
- Build upon and continuation of laudable projects of past administrations.
A statement by Mr. Iroche reads: ‘Good afternoon fellow Nigerians, my name is Sonny Iroche and I am the leader of the Abia League of Professionals Initiative ALPI. My message today is first to the good people of Abia State and the 17 local government areas, who have casted their votes and the decision that they have taken to have as their next governor. In the person of Doctor Alex Otti, cannot and I repeat cannot be short-changed, changed or subverted for just the will of a few gang who have held Abia captivity in the last 24 years’.
He further added that ‘The people of Abia State are a very peace loving and hard working people, who just want a relatively peaceful state for them to carry on their business. They have suffered huge degradation of infrastructure of their means of livelihood’.
Mr. Iroche calls us INEC to release the exact election results of the just concluded Governorship and State House elections.
